IFAD, FARA and DeSIRA-LIFT are co-organizing a hybrid dialogue on “Improving Climate Resilience and Sustainability of Farming and Food Systems: Exploring the Contribution of Agroecology.” This event will be held in the margins of #AASW8 – the African Agribusiness and Science Week – in Durban, South Africa, on 6 June 2023, from 11:00 to 13:00.
As part of the 2022 Biennial Africa Climate-Smart Agriculture Stakeholder Conference, DeSIRA-LIFT co-organised with FARA a side event entitled “The contribution of agroecology to climate change adaptation and mitigation.”
DeSIRA-LIFT co-organised two events as part of the 2022 Biennial Africa Climate-Smart Agriculture Stakeholder Conference. One of them was a thematic paper presentation entitled “Compatibility assessment of agroecology and Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices.”
Stakeholders in the area of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) are converging in Accra, Ghana during 14-16 September 2022 to discuss innovative and sustainable solutions to challenges of climate change in African agriculture.
One of DeSIRA-LIFT’s key mandates is to support research infrastructure conducive to innovation, particularly in African countries. More specifically, DeSIRA-LIFT’s Service Area 2 works to support FARA, AFAAS, ASARECA, CCARDESA and CORAF (collectively known as CAADP-XP4 organizations) playing a key role in Africa’s agricultural knowledge and innovation systems.
