On 13 October, as part of the programme of the FAO’s Science and Innovation Forum, DeSIRA-LIFT and the department for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) of the European Commission organise a webinar entitled “Strengthening Agricultural Innovation Systems: Learning from Past and Present Research Interventions”.
Stakeholders in the area of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) are converging in Accra, Ghana during 14-16 September 2022 to discuss innovative and sustainable solutions to challenges of climate change in African agriculture.
One of DeSIRA-LIFT’s key mandates is to support research infrastructure conducive to innovation, particularly in African countries. More specifically, DeSIRA-LIFT’s Service Area 2 works to support FARA, AFAAS, ASARECA, CCARDESA and CORAF (collectively known as CAADP-XP4 organizations) playing a key role in Africa’s agricultural knowledge and innovation systems.
Shifting towards more sustainable food systems requires an enabling international policy environment based on effective policy dialogue. With this premise in mind, DeSIRA-LIFT, a service facility of the DeSIRA Initiative, aims to underpin policy dialogue between the African Union (AU) and the European Commission with evidence and actionable knowledge on trends related to food systems transformation.
