    • Call for Experts

      DeSIRA-LIFT is looking for two experts who will work with the European Commission (DG INTPA) and the African Sub-Regional Organisations (SROs) ASARECA, CCARDESA, and CORAF to prepare and coordinate an upcoming call for Expressions of Interest for Regional Centres of Excellence for Agroecology.

    • Compatibility assessment of agroecology and CSA practices

      DeSIRA-LIFT co-organised two events as part of the 2022 Biennial Africa Climate-Smart Agriculture Stakeholder Conference. One of them was a thematic paper presentation entitled “Compatibility assessment of agroecology and Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices.”

      Supporting innovation towards environmentally sound, climate smart and socially just agri-food systems transformation.

      DeSIRA-LIFT (Leveraging the DeSIRA Initiative for agri-food systems transformation) is a service facility supporting the DeSIRA Initiative (Development Smart Innovation through Research in Agriculture, in short DeSIRA) funded by the European Commission.

       

      DeSIRA aims to bridge the gap between research and policy making towards resilient, sustainable and equitable agri-food systems in the Global South.

      DeSIRA-LIFT provides services to DeSIRA Initiative’s implementers under three service areas, aligned with the DeSIRA pillars:

      Service Area 1

      Support to the country-based DeSIRA projects to enhance their impacts by promoting Agricultural Innovation Systems (AIS) thinking and the use of developmental evaluation approaches.

      Service Area 2

      Support to African apex organisations for research on agricultural development (CORAFASARECA, CCARDESA and FARA), extension (AFAAS) and higher education (RUFORUM), and add value to global initiatives TAP and GFAR.

      Service Area 3

      Support to co-create knowledge and evidence to feed policy dialogues and programming on agri-food systems in the Global South.
